Hello there!
My name is Ryan Speers, an LA based Photographer and Director of Photography. Born in Iowa and raised in Illinois, my early photographic inspiration stemmed from a fascination with imagery and storytelling. My first studies in lighting and image came from making home movies, where I learned to experiment with lighting to establish mood and evoke emotion. I developed my eye further by studying film, video, and photography at Columbia College Chicago, where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in those studies.
Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2010, I’ve been employed by several creative agencies and film studios such as Imaginary Forces, Innocean USA, and Conscious Minds.
Most recently, my travel photography and writing have been published by the travel publication Suitcase Magazine, which can be viewedhereandhere.
My other work has been featured in print, online publications such as Forbes, Hollywood productions, and on broadcast television. These projects have sent me internationally to places such as South Africa, Ireland, India, Singapore, and Canada.
